Alumna Spotlight: Alyssa Condrey

As we countdown to our 15th Anniversary, NeW is privileged to share the stories of some of our alumna. At NeW, we believe in supporting women in college, but also beyond as they head into the workplace. Learn where some of our alumna are today and how NeW impacted their college experience.

Meet Alyssa Condrey, an alumna from James Madison University.

During the summer of 2010, I was attending a conference in Richmond, Virginia where Karin Agness was one of the speakers. She shared her story of starting NeW at UVA and her experience. I was inspired by her eloquence, poise, and knowledge of current events.

At the time, I was attending James Madison University and thought my campus could benefit from having the community of a NeW chapter. I stepped out of my comfort zone to recruit other students to be involved: researched and acted on the requirements to get a club on campus officially recognized. I developed leadership and communication skills during the process. While in college, I qualified for travel scholarships and opportunities as a result of my involvement with NeW. I developed friendships with other conservative college women at networking events like the annual NeW dessert party during CPAC. Looking back on my college experience, NeW is one of the top highlights for the personal and professional growth that resulted.
