Experience the Conservative Political Action Conference with NeW

NeW CPAC Dessert Party

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is the largest gathering of conservatives in the DC area. Our 2017 Dessert Party featured guest speaker Angela McGlowan, CEO of Political Strategies & Insights. The event included discussion, networking, and professional development advice. Our 2016 Dessert Party speaker was Lisa Daftari, an award-winning investigative journalist focusing on foreign affairs with expertise in the Middle East and counterterrorism.

2017 NeW CPAC Dessert Party

Each year, the Network of enlightened Women (NeW) hosts a CPAC dessert party. This is an opportunity for conservatives from all over the country to stop by for a little something sweet and stay for the opportunity to meet some amazing conservative women, NeW members, and fellow friends of liberty. Our 2017 keynote speaker was Angela McGlowan, American political commentator, best-selling author, and CEO of Political Strategies & Insights, a government affairs, political strategy, public relations and advocacy consulting firm based in Oxford, Mississippi, with an office in Washington, D.C. In 2010, she placed third in the Republican primary for a Congressional seat in Mississippi.

This special gathering was held at the National Harbor Hampton Inn & Suites, right across the street from the National Harbor Gaylord Hotel, in The Harbor Room (2nd floor). Read more about the event here.

A Look Back At CPAC 2016

Last year, Karin Agness, Founder and President of NeW, spoke on the main stage at CPAC as part of a panel titled, Campus Crackdown. Karin shared her perspective on the current political and cultural climate of today’s campuses and what NeW is doing to promote conservative principles. NeW also recruited members with a booth in the Exhibit Hall and hosted a networking and dessert party featuring Lisa Daftari, Editor-in-Chief of Foreign Desk News. She is a political analyst appearing regularly on Fox News, CBS, NBC, PBS, the Washington Post, ABC, and NPR. You can read about it here. Students solicited professional development advice from Lisa and learned about the challenges women face around the world.
