Leader Spotlight: Brooke Myers, NeW at University of South Florida

Meet Brooke Myers, Social Media Director for NeW at the University of South Florida.

How did you first hear about NeW?
I first heard about NeW while looking for conservative clubs on campus. I looked into the national chapter and then the chapter at the University of South Florida, and NeW seemed like a great fit!

Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?
Having a NeW chapter on campus is important to me because it makes sure conservative women on campus have a place to share and explore their views. Today on college campuses, there are not many places to share conservative perspectives, and many people are even afraid to share their views on campus, so having a NeW chapter makes sure that we have something that represents our views.

What has been your favorite memory or event with NeW?
My favorite event with our NeW chapter on campus was when we virtually hosted Grace Saldana. She was so lovely to have during our meeting and brought so many great facts and talking points to our meeting while really connecting and engaging with all of our members.

Why is NeW important?
NeW is so important because in today’s society it can seem like there aren’t very many conservatives or people with conservative mindsets. Having so many NeW chapters and NeW members really just gives light to the fact that there are conservative women all across the country from all walks of life.

What advice would you give other conservative women on campus?
Some advice I would give other conservative women on campus is to be unafraid to share your views. Even though there are many liberal ideas, clubs, or professors on college campuses, there are still other people who think like you even if it doesn’t seem like it. The best thing you can do for yourself as a conservative on a college campus is to stand behind your beliefs and stay true to them.
