WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION URGES AMERICA TO EVALUATE
AMY CONEY BARRETT ON HER QUALIFICATIONS
WASHINGTON, DC — As the hearing got underway for Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, Karin Lips, President of NeW shared,
“Amy Coney Barrett has excellent credentials to be on the Supreme Court, but that doesn’t mean liberals won’t try to delegitimize her. Popular feminists today are quick to mock, shame, and even bully conservative women into silence. For far too long, the left has controlled the narrative about what women want. Conservative women must push back and speak up. Our views are mainstream. The modern feminists attacking Barrett don’t represent millions of American women, and we won’t let them pretend to speak for us.
“I call on modern feminists not to demonize her faith and family size. If they truly want to champion women, they shouldn’t attack her choice of how she lives out her family and her career.
“Barrett graduated first in her class from Notre Dame Law School, clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia, practiced law at a prestigious firm in Washington, DC, and has been a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals since 2017. She accomplished all this while also raising seven children. I personally look forward to seeing another mom on the Supreme Court.
“I am delighted to see the President nominate a woman who respects the rule of law.”
