Unlike most conservatives, I grew up with all of my friends being liberal (and them not even knowing I was conservative until the end of my senior year of high school). I understand their side and what it means to be a liberal after the eight years of only listening to their views. At times I questioned my own views. Despite all that I came to fully know that I am a conservative.

As a conservative:

I can fully support the individual and my belief in self-governance.
I can be pro choice and be pro woman.
I choose not to judge people by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
I learn from history and respect tradition while also being an innovator for the future.
I am open to discussion and listening to all sides before making a well informed decision.
I know that I am capable of competing against men and empowered to prove those wrong who do not think I can.

Others can try to tell me otherwise as to why I shouldn’t be a conservative but, I am willful and head strong and can only be convinced with logic, proof, and facts. And while I may not agree with every single conservative belief, conservatism accepts me as I am; a hard working, free, independent, woman.
