Patrick Henry College

I go to a very small private conservative college in Northern Virginia, so for me, being a conservative college student has been quite easy. I’ve found that more of the push back comes from the workplace, and having liberal co-workers. Once you get out out of your bubble and into the “real world,” it can sometimes feel like the whole world is against you. Conservatives are often told they are “against women” because they are pro-life, etc, and I think that the negative stereotype surrounding conservatism should be changed. The fact that NeW is encouraging a new generation of conservative women to stand up for their beliefs and voice their opinions on current events and politics in an informed and intelligent way is amazing. I think that right now, there is a tendency of viewing conservative women as stuck in the past, particularly when it comes to the workplace. However, the conservative women I know are strong and intelligent, and value a successful career just as much as having a family.
