Senior Spotlight: Tatum Barstad, NeW at Sioux Falls

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Tatum Barstad, Vice President of NeW at Sioux Falls.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
This year, as the Vice President of our chapter, I participated in a press conference with our chapter president and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, during which they proposed the launch of the coalition defend Title IX. I also attended a group event at Great Shot in Sioux Falls, where we talked about conservative beliefs and bonded over common interests. I enjoyed getting to know all the women in my group.

What are your plans after graduation?
I am moving to Phoenix, Arizona, where I will be an account manger for a company called Insight Global.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Speak up! Let your voice be heard. Don’t let anyone put you down. Always step up and stand up for what you believe in.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has made me stronger. I’ve always been an outspoken person, but this group has equipped me and prepared me for the real world. NeW has taught me that I should never back down and to always stand up for what I believe in!

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it’s all about making women stronger and preparing them to be better. I love empowering other women, and this club allows me to do that on the daily!

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Tatum. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
