Senior Spotlight: Sommer Prime, NeW at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Sommer Prime, President of NeW at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I attended the NeW conference in Washington, DC the year before COVID happened, and it was incredible to hear from so many amazing women and see NeW working on such a larger scale than my university here in North Carolina. I also enjoyed gathering with women from other NeW chapters over Zoom to share in our leader experiences.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending law school to further my education.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Stand strong in your beliefs and do not back down with your voice. You will be heard, and you never know how many women have the same beliefs you do.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has furthered my educational understanding of being a women in politics and advocacy. It has also given me so many networking opportunities and allowed me to grow in my beliefs along with other powerful women. I am ready to face the world and law school with a strong foundation thanks to NeW.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW has allowed me to brand myself with my conservative views and showed me that it will not hold me back in a world full of opposing views. NeW has given me confidence in my beliefs, and I have created amazing friendships and bonds with other women through this network.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Sommer. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
