Senior Spotlight: Sara Asta, NeW at Texas Tech University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Sara Asta, member of NeW at Texas Tech University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
My favorite NeW event we have had here at Texas Tech has been our book club. We have been reading, “For Such a Time as This,” by Kayleigh McEnany. It has been a wonderful opportunity to sit down as a group of like-minded women and openly talk about our thoughts with the book.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be going to grad school for hospitality and retail management at Texas Tech.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Keep your head up and don’t let others get to you. I never realized how hard it is to be a conservative woman in a university until I got here. Hold your head high and stay proud!

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has impacted me by giving me the chance to share my thoughts openly with other conservative women. I have not had the chance to do so until joining NeW, so I really appreciate that.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it gives conservative women the chance to learn more about history, politics, and why our conservative views are the way they are. I joined this group so that I could learn more about being a conservative woman from others in my generation.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Sara. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
