Senior Spotlight: Riley Jergens, Loyola University Chicago

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Riley Jergens, President of NeW at Loyola University Chicago.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
We had a group dinner at an Italian restaurant and I loved getting to see all the like-minded women gathered around the table!

What are your plans after graduation?
I am taking a year off to work for a law firm and then I am going to law school.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Be true to who you are. On a lot of college campuses being conservative can feel wrong. But remember, you hold your beliefs for a reason and 50% of the country thinks the same way as you.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has definitely impacted me. I helped found the chapter, which taught me a lot. Having a group for conservative women opened my eyes to a wonderful community I never would have been exposed to. It’s so refreshing to see so many women like me.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is a place where I find community. Finding conservatives, and even friends, is tough when you get to college. NeW is such a safe and fun place to explore your own beliefs, grow as a person, and meet new people.
