Congratulations to our graduating seniors, and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Megan Ramon, Vice President of NeW at The University of Florida.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?

Cherise’s talk on how to navigate the very hostile liberal atmosphere on campus and how to approach conservative discrimination in classes was so informative and helpful, allowing me to really see my options while I myself was dealing with a situation!

As a former competitive swimmer myself, hearing Riley talk on the importance of fighting for biological gendered considerations in women’s sports meant so much. She was just amazing!

What are your plans after graduation?

I’ll be taking a gap year to study for the LSAT, work, and prepare for my law school journey.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?

Stay strong in your faith and your beliefs! Just because you are surrounded by people who will shoot you down and try to silence you does not mean you should hide. Remember always – if not you, who? Be the trailblazer and foster the atmosphere for others like you! We are out there!

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?

NeW has allowed me to make so many friends that are like-minded and has provided me with a beautiful and admirable community of brilliant women. It has allowed me to network with other women who were once in NeW and are now in my future career field, allowing me to create lasting connections. I plan to continue in NeW once in law school either by joining or starting a chapter to ensure women have the safe space NeW at UF provided me!

Women are usually the ones who stay silent so as not to be confrontational. It is so important to offer a space where young women can come and discuss and share their beliefs in a protected environment considering the state of things. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, including young conservatives. NeW helps develop and educate these young girls on so many beneficial things apart from politics and it helps them learn how to approach hard conversations about faith, family, and freedom in graceful and educated ways. If we lose NeW, we lose such a vital organization that has changed the lives of so many women (like me!) for the better in their education and futures.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Megan. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
