Senior Spotlight: Margaret Kolesar, Christendom College

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Margaret Kolesar, Vice President of NeW at Christendom College.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I loved our Mary Margaret Olohan speaker event.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be interning at the heritage foundation this summer. I plan to work towards a career in national security.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Keep focused on your standards and values, and do not change to fit in. People will learn to respect your values if you make them known in a clear, intelligent way.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
Helping other women understand political issues and empowering them to look beyond their everyday life has challenged me to make better choices about what I stand for. Working with my campus program coordinators Catherine and Chloe helped me grow in professionalism and their commitment to the conservative movement has inspired me to not settle for a mediocre career.

Why is NeW important to you?
Having an organization that gives support to young conservative women has been very valuable for me. Every encounter I have has with girls in my chapter, other chapter leaders, and leaders at the national level has been positive, supportive, and open, which is unusual to experience in today’s culture. I’m so thankful for the opportunities NeW has offered me and have gained so many experiences and friendships through the chapter.
