Senior Spotlight: Mallory Shaevsky, NeW at University of Michigan

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Mallory Shaevsky, President of NeW at the University of Michigan.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I attended all of NeW National’s book clubs, helped our chapter host a state representative at our school, and was a part of Karin’s Opportunity Feminism course.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency headquarters in Washington, DC and then going to get my master’s degree in American Government at Georgetown University.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Be open to learning new opinions while sticking true to your roots! Find other women who share your beliefs and build a support system.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has taught me both how to be a leader and how to feel empowered in my beliefs!

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW gave me the skills necessary to go forward in a career in conservative politics.
