Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.
Meet Maddie Blanch, President of NeW at University of South Carolina.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I loved attending CPAC and Leadership Retreat as well as some of our chapter events such as our Grace Valentine speaker event, Cabot Phillips speaker event, and “What is a Woman?” movie night.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I intend to go to graduate school to pursue a Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling. I plan to become an LPC and counsel high school and college aged girls from a Biblical perspective.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Be bold. Stand up for your beliefs. College is foundational in becoming who you want to be. If you let people walk all over you, you will have such a hard time in the real world. There are people out there who agree with you, you just have to find them. It’s so worth it.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has grown me as a leader and as a woman. NeW taught me how to stand up for what I believe in and to always pursue truth. Without NeW I would not have had the same opportunities to professional development, like LI workshops, leadership retreats, and conferences where I have made so many valuable connections.
Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because of the people I have met. I have made so many friends through this organization – friends who live across the country that I still talk to frequently as well as friends in my city that I love like family. NeW has given me more than I could have ever asked for and I couldn’t be more grateful to have experienced everything I have through this organization.
The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Maddie. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
