Congratulations to our graduating seniors, and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Katherine Henderson, President of NeW at Georgetown University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?

During the past year, our chapter participated in a card-making event for hospitalized kids, “Is Chivalry Dead?” with Virginia Allen, multiple brunches, and more.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I will be attending dental school at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?

To a conservative woman starting college, I would recommend being solidified and strong in your beliefs, while also being open to listen. While it is important to be proud of your own beliefs and have a solid foundation or justification in said beliefs, it is equally as important to converse with others. This should include listening to the points of view of people with varying experiences as well as respectfully sharing your own.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?

NeW has truly helped me to understand how to be a proud woman in the workforce. I am entering a fairly male-dominated field and have had many people tell me I will not make it as a dentist because I am a woman. NeW has taught me the exact opposite and has equipped me with the tools to prove them wrong. NeW has also provided me with a network of strong and supportive women to lean on throughout my struggles and celebrate with during my successes.

Why is NeW important to you?

NeW is important to me because it provides outstanding opportunities to strong, independent, and confident women. NeW not only recognizes the change that these women can make, but empowers and equips them to make a larger impact on our society.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Katherine. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
