Senior Spotlight: Jessica Martinez, NeW at UNC Charlotte

This spring, we continue to highlight some of our exceptional seniors and celebrate their upcoming graduation. Meet Jessica Martinez, senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Jessica is a founding member of NeW at UNC Charlotte, received the Activist of the Year Award in 2018, and is a contributor to our new book She’s Conservative: Stories of Trials and Triumphs on America’s College Campuses.

What are your plans after graduation?
My plan after graduation is to become the District Manager for Vector Marketing and PT Contributor at the Center for Public Justice – Shared Justice online publication. As a District Manager, I will be operating my own district office in a city somewhere in the Eastern Region of the United States.

What is one thing you have gained from NeW?
Through NeW, I established my own views on important issues through learning from different conservative leaders. Being a part of the She’s Conservative Campaign as one of the authors for the She’s Conservative book is also an honor. I am excited to become a part of a great alumni network of women I can continue to learn from.

What is your favorite part or memory of NeW?
The first time I ever traveled to Washington, DC was for a NeW National Conference in 2017. To this day, I am grateful for all the donors and NeW staff that make events such as the National Conference and the Leadership Retreat possible. These were my first NeW events and I left both feeling well prepared to start a Chapter at UNC Charlotte.

What is one piece of advice you would give to conservative women starting college?
My biggest piece of advice for conservative women is to find a NeW community where they can share and grow in their beliefs, and play a role in expanding the conservative message on their campus. Also, attend as many national events as possible!

The Network of enlightened Women provides amazing opportunities for young Conservative females. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus here and help others learn about what NeW stands for!
