Senior Spotlight: Hannah Rawles, NeW at College of Charleston

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Hannah Rawles, member of NeW at the College of Charleston.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I regularly attended meetings for my NeW chapter. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do much more due to the restrictions set in place by my school amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, in our meetings, we discussed how to build resumes, female empowerment, and had mini fun projects that we completed together.

What are your plans after graduation?
I’m optimistic that I’ll join Senator Tim Scott’s reelection campaign as a member of the press team. I would love to move to Washington, DC in the future to work on Capitol Hill as a press secretary.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Be headstrong and confident in who you are and what you believe. At the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is your own.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has helped me realize there are so many young conservative women out there who share my beliefs and views. I’ve been able to meet so many college women and have so much fun with them. Working with Kathryn Alford from NeW National during my Student Media Fellowship has better prepared me for a future in media and politics. I’ve already learned so much when it comes to writing op-eds, giving interviews, and general tips on a future in media.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because I believe giving young conservative women a voice on college campuses and beyond is so vitally important. It also encourages new friendships and connections during college and after. It’s a fun and supportive organization. I’m so thankful to have been part of this!

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Hannah. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
