Senior Spotlight: Emma Wilenta, NeW at Catholic University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Emma Wilenta, president of NeW at Catholic University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I enjoyed our “Professional Development Mixer and Headshots” with Catholic University’s Women in Business Council as well as the “School Choice Policy” talk by Lindsey Burke, Director of the Center for Education Policy at The Heritage Foundation.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be working at the Independent Women’s Forum as a policy assistant.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
I would tell them to show up! I have found that at my university specifically, people are so hesitant to attend events on campus for various reasons. If you can, make an effort to attend at least one event that you are interested in because you never know what will be waiting for you there. And of course, join NeW! Don’t hesitate to reach out to the chapter leaders if you have any questions.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW gave me the opportunity to be a leader on my campus and given me role models and mentors whom I admire.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is so important because it gives women an opportunity to grow as leaders and  find community, and it equips us for success in our professional and personal lives. NeW has connected me with a network of like-minded and supportive women whom I will treasure for years to come.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Emma. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
