Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.
Meet Elizabeth Hernandez, member of NeW at the University of South Florida.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I enjoyed our Beach Retreat with games and great conversations, the Bulls-Market and spreading the word to more students about our NeW chapter, our chapter’s weekly meetings to de-stress and talk to like-minded women, hearing from our great guest speaker Cabot Phillips, and our chapter’s “Painting and Politics” night when we had cupcakes while we painted.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to work and save up so that I can get some traveling in.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Join NeW! I’m bummed that I didn’t find it until my senior year but have loved it so much. Surround yourself with women who will lift you up and support you, no matter your political views. Stand up for what you believe because you aren’t alone.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has empowered me to not be afraid to stand up for my beliefs and to challenge myself in a lot of ways.
Why is NeW important to you?
NeW has really changed my college experience for the better. Because of COVID, I lost half of my college experience and felt really bummed and cheated. Joining NeW has allowed me to make more friends and go to fun events that made me feel like an active college student. I love NeW. The organization is also important because we need to empower young conservative women because we are often overlooked and ignored. We need to know that we aren’t alone.
The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Elizabeth. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
