Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.
Meet Avery Dishaw, member of NeW at Texas Tech University.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
“Girls Night with Lily Kate” hosted by NeW and Turning Point USA was one of my favorites because I loved getting to learn about radical feminism with like-minded women and learning about how to equip myself with the tools I need to fight radical-modern feminism. I also enjoyed our chapter’s “Galentine’s Night Out” because it was fun getting to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my girlfriends and to grow our friendships with each other. Being surrounded by women with the same core values and beliefs as you, is such an empowering feeling.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on taking a gap year to work and gain real-world experience before heading to law school in the fall of 2023.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Hold steadfast to your convictions, values, and beliefs. The Lord placed them on YOUR heart for a reason. Nobody else’s. You can’t expect people to understand your drive when God didn’t give them your vision.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has provided me with friendship: support from new lifelong friends who are prepared to lift me up in times of need and cheer me on at my highest points. NeW has prepared me to face the world head on as a strong conservative women.
Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it has shown me what real feminism is. It’s traditional and uplifting towards other women. It’s taught me that you can be a force and still be graceful.
