Senior Spotlight: Alexa Deutsch, NeW at Xavier University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Alexa Deutsch, treasurer and founding member of NeW at Xavier University. After graduation, Alexa plans to attend law school.

What are two events you participated in during your time with NeW?
I participated in the 2018 NeW National Conference and the launch of NeW at Xavier. I will remember starting NeW’s Chapter at Xavier University for years to come, as I know I helped in the fight to ensure conservative college students, especially women, have a place on campus where they feel completely free to voice their opinion.

What is one thing you have gained from NeW?
I’ve gained even more confidence to advocate for conservative ideals and gain a presence in my community. The past year I’ve been greatly involved both on Xavier’s campus and in the greater Cincinnati area, and these experiences will serve as great tools for me to use in law school and beyond.

What is your favorite part or memory of NeW?
My favorite part of NeW is the opportunities it grants students of any age to network and gain the skills they need to reach their full potential. While I’ve also made connections through Xavier’s College Republicans Chapter, NeW is a great way for those not interested in campaigning or major political endeavors to have those conversations in a safer environment than what is typically observed on college campuses.

What is one piece of advice you would give to conservative women starting college?
Don’t be afraid to share your opinion. After four years you’ll likely never see a majority of the people you’ll interact with during your time at college. Plus, the conservative voice needs to stay alive! It’s up to us to be sure conservative ideals still remain in the foundation of America.

The Network of enlightened Women provides amazing opportunities for young Conservative females. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus here and help others learn about what NeW stands for!
