Know a young gentleman in your life who acts with honesty, integrity, and respect? Does he put others before himself, stand by his values, and advocate for positive change? That was 2021 Gentleman of the Year Reese Dickerhoff from College of Charleston.
Dickerhoff, a Political Science and History major, nominated by his friend, Jordan Mercer, was nominated because of the respect and kindness he shows to everyone around him on campus and in their community. Mercer shared in her nomination that Dickerhoff, “is not kind and polite because he is expected to be or to impress people…[his] kind actions are second-nature to him because he genuinely wants to help people, make people happy, and make the world a better place. He is one of the most selfless people I have ever met and he has inspired others to follow suit.”

The Gentlemen Showcase – a national contest started by NeW in 2010 – honors young gentlemen from across the nation who demonstrate selflessness, service, and a commitment to their communities. Nominate that special gentleman in your life – your friend, coworker, classmate, or brother! Don’t miss your chance to WIN this year!
In this year’s contest, the first place “Gentleman of the Year” and his nominator will each win a $500 scholarship. Additionally, one gentleman will be selected as the runner up or “Honorable Mention” and he and his nominator will each win a $250 scholarship. On top of these great prizes, there will be additional prizes donated by generous sponsors announced throughout our Showcase. If the winner is not an undergraduate or graduate student, the equivalent of their scholarship prize will be donated to the charity of their choice. If a NeW Chapter nominates one of the winners, their scholarship prize will be changed to a chapter grant. The winners will be chosen by a selection committee. Nominations are now open until January 30, 2022.
