On Wednesday, January 24, we hosted our first annual Conservative Panel and Networking Reception event in collaboration with the American University College Republicans. Our panel included Laura Bush’s Former Chief of Staff, a Hill staffer, a Washington Examiner Columnist Writer, and the Dean of American University’s School of Public Affairs just to name a few.
We got to hear how we can use the AU School of Public Affairs and the city of Washington DC to our full advantage as conservative students and how to lay the groundwork for our future careers. We loved hearing each panelist story on how they got to where they are today. We left inspired, motivated, and eager to start networking with the panelists. Everyone loved how diverse in profession and age the panel was.
I’m so proud that I was able to plan the first annual Conservative Panel and Networking Receptions. As AU students living in DC, we love to meet with DC professionals in order to expand our network. This event brought the DC professionals to our campus for our members to meet. My hope is that students take advantage of all the advice the panelists gave and use them as contacts in the future.
