Member Spotlight: Courtney Wilt, NeW at University of South Florida

Meet Courtney Wilt, member of NeW at the University of South Florida.

How did you first hear about NeW?
I heard about NeW from social media.

Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?
Having NeW on campus is very important to me because it is nice having a group of like-minded women who share similar beliefs and values, and never judge you for who you are and what you believe.

What has been your favorite memory or event with NeW?
My favorite memory with NeW was our beach weekend!

Why is NeW important?
NeW is important because it can help educate women on current political issues and also serve as a safe space for conservative women, especially with our current society being so quick to judge people based on what they believe or who and what they vote for.

What advice would you give other conservative women on campus?
Advice that I would give to other conservative women on campus would be to stand up for what you believe in and don’t feel as if you need to be silent on certain issues.

I know personally there was a point in my life when I would keep my political views to myself because I was so tired of getting attacked by the left for my opinions, and I just eventually reached the point of not caring. If someone does not want to like me or be my friend because of what I believe, then that just reflects on who they are as a person and their character.
