Leader Spotlight: Molly Rogers, NeW at Belmont University

Meet Molly Rogers, Outreach Director of NeW at Belmont University.

Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?
I want there to be a community for young women at Belmont where they are free to express their views, their struggles, and their achievements. Making friends is hard enough, but having to put on a front and hide what you believe in is even harder.

What has been your favorite memory or event with NeW?
Hearing all of the positive responses from the women that have already joined the club has really been my favorite part of starting this group. They all came to Belmont thinking that they would be alone in the way they view the world, but with this club they do not feel that way anymore. That honestly makes this all seem worth it.

Why is NeW important?
NeW allows young women to see that they can be so much more than just timid creatures who feel as if their voices cannot be heard. We can definitely make an impact on this campus and the people around us. NeW is more than just an organization. It’s a community that empowers us to be who we are truly meant to be.

What advice would you give other conservative women on campus?
Do not be afraid to stand firm in your beliefs, but also do not hesitate to listen to what others have to say. We can all learn from each other. The best thing we can do is to listen, learn, and see things for ourselves.
