Why did you apply for this internship?
I applied for this internship to get an experience for real patient care in the hospital setting.

What does your day look like in your internship?
It is a 12-hour shift. The first part starts out with report, and then I care for the patient for that shift following the necessary protocol. Then we end the day with a group discussion about how to improve quality of care and patient safety.

What has been your favorite part of the internship so far?
My favorite part of the internship so far has been carrying out the material and theory I have learned in the classroom in the patient care setting.

How has your experience with NeW prepared you for this role? 
It has helped create a balance between open-mindedness and establishing my belief and realizing that other people have different ideologies.

Any advice for other women who are looking for an internship?
My advice would be to network with people to get those hands-on learning opportunities.
