We are excited to have Haley Supergan join our team this semester as our Spring 2020 Communications intern. Haley is currently a senior at Creighton University.
Why were you interested in interning for NeW?
After attending the NeW Conference in the summer of 2019, I felt so inspired and empowered. I knew that I wanted to become more involved with this incredible group. Because I don’t have a chapter on my college campus, I thought an internship was a perfect way to combine my passions and to give back to the group that inspired me to be the best woman I can be.
What is the most important conservative issue in your opinion?
The most important conservative issue for me is intellectual diversity on college campuses. College students are constantly being told what to think by professors and peers. (provigil online paypal) I have friends who are afraid to voice their opinions and live in fear of their views. Improving intellectual diversity on college campuses would open up more young people to conservative views and lessen the hatred that conservatives face everyday.
How do you currently advocate for conservative principles on campus?
As a Resident Advisor, I try to remind my residents that there are always difference opinions and ideas, and just because something is different doesn’t mean its wrong.
If you could offer advice to college students, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid of your views. It can be difficult and scary to think differently than others and to feel controversial. You’re not a bad person for thinking differently from your professors and friends; you’re brave.
Why is NeW important?
NeW is so important because it gives women the tools to help themselves. Through NeW I have learned so much about who I am. Hearing the stories of incredible women at NeW events has inspired me to do great things!
