Intern Spotlight: Adelyn Spikes

We have been so grateful to have Adelyn Spikes on our team this semester as our Fall 2021 Communications Intern. Adelyn is a senior at Texas Tech University.

How did you hear about NeW?
I heard about NeW by going to a dinner with our Campus Coordinators when they were doing their trip in Texas to visit our college campus at Texas Tech.

Why is NeW important?
NeW is so important because it builds a community of conservative women to help encourage them to stand up for conservative values. It is a place to build lifelong friendships and connections to help empower you in your life and others.

What is the most important conservative issue in your opinion?
In my opinion the pro-life issue is the most conservative issue. I believe that is an issue that is not talked enough about on our college campuses. We must fight for those that cannot fight for themselves, including the lives of unborn babies.

Spikes helped NeW Campus Program Coordinator, Madison Kutruff, table for NeW at the Young Women’s Leadership Summit.

If you could offer advice to college students, what would it be?
If I could offer some advice to college students it would be stand true to yourself and don’t let other people’s opinions of you change your core beliefs. College can be daunting, and there are lots of new ideas and opinions that will be brought before you, but don’t allow them to change who you really are. Always stand up for what is right and don’t forget you’re never alone!

Why were you interested in interning for NeW?
I was interested in interning for NeW because I wanted to work for a conservative organization that empowers young women to reach their full potential. I am also excited to get to work with conservative women whom I can learn from and grow with.

Are you a college student interested in supporting the empowerment of conservative women and bringing intellectual diversity to college campuses across the country? You can apply to intern with NeW today.
