Most people call him Pat, and he is the embodiment of everything that a gentleman should be. I first met him during a political internship for a state representative, at whose office Pat is a full-time employee. Shown through his work, Pat is obviously a great candidate for NeW’s 2018 Gentleman Showcase.

Pat grew up as the eldest of five children, and he still takes his big-brother duties seriously. Family always comes first for Pat, and it shows. Even if he is knee-deep in his own activities, Pat always puts them aside when his siblings or parents come calling. In fact, service is a core foundation of who he is. Since he was just a boy, Pat was a participant and volunteer at The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia, which happens to be his charity of choice. It was here Pat developed a passion for the game of golf and was able to share his love for the game with other inner city youth like himself as they grew in the program and developed life skills necessary to set themselves up for success. This summer, Pat will leave for Texas to complete his basic military training and embark on a career with the Air Force as a reservist. Not only does he put others before himself in personal relationships, he truly lives by it in the path he’s chosen as a career for himself.

If that’s not enough, Pat is extremely hard-working and dedicated to accomplishing whatever tasks are set in front of him. Especially in regards to his career. While attending Neumann University, Pat served as President of Neumann University’s Alpha Eta Xi chapter of the Political Science National Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha and was the first-ever student to attend the capitol fellowship program in Harrisburg, PA. It was there that he cemented his love for politics, policy, and legislative research. Pat had the opportunity to continue taking classes, work for a committee chairman, handle constituent issues and other committee tasks, and develop his very own piece of legislation.

Pat is clearly a hard-working and service-oriented gentleman who is determined to succeed in everything he does. It is what makes him so successful, in all areas of his life, and why I nominate him for Gentleman of the Year.
