Chapter Spotlight: NeW at Belmont University

This month, NeW caught up with the women from one of our newest chapters, NeW at Belmont University. Learn about the great work these women are already doing on campus and what they are most looking forward to this semester from their e-board members.

Why is NeW important to your chapter?
NeW is important to our chapter because it brings a community to our campus of empowering women that support and lift each other up.

What kind of impact has your chapter had on campus?
Our chapter, in just the short time it has been around, has already acquired 130 Instagram followers and 28 official members. Recently, most of us attended a Turning Point USA event, where we networked with other female conservatives at Belmont and recruited them to our club.

What has been your chapter’s favorite event/meeting to host and why?
Our favorite event thus far was partnering with the TPUSA chapter on campus for a Debate Watch Party. We set up a table with NeW swag and introduced our club and gave a brief highlight to those that attended. This was not only a great way to recruit new members but also hang out with our members for the first time. We had so much fun getting to know each other and talking about the debate as it was happening.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a chapter on their campus?
If anyone is wrestling with the idea of starting a NeW chapter on their campus, we would tell them to do it. It is so empowering to have a community of women on your side. You may be fearful of the pushback, but it is so worth it. To have a group of supportive women throughout college and life is life-changing.
