Media Relations Coordinator – Virtual
About the Role
In this position, you will have the opportunity to grow NeW through media relations, general communications, and digital marketing alongside an experienced team and work with top conservative female leaders around the country.
This person will be responsible for growing NeW’s media relations by building NeW’s brand through drafting and editing a variety of materials for different audiences including newsletters, social media content, press releases, blogs, articles, and media pitches.The Media Relations Coordinator will write and post content on the NeW blog and manage the website. The Media Relations Coordinator will research media contacts, build relationship with them, and pitch out story ideas. The Media Relations Coordinator will manage the Student Media Fellows program, including training students on how to write op-eds and be interviewed, and work with students to get media. This person will also provide marketing materials and trainings for chapters when requested. The Media Relations Coordinator will also work with NeW’s President on producing The Conservative Woman’s Guide podcast.
This role will work with the communications team in growing NeW’s brand and setting NeW up as the “go to” source for the perspective of conservative young women. This role will help manage interns.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and send out e-newsletters.
- Work with NeW’s President and communications team on producing The Conservative Woman’s Guide podcast. Plan seasons and topics, schedule podcast interviews, draft scripts and show notes, and finalize episodes.
- Manage NeW’s website and blog. Draft and post original content.
- Draft and send out press releases and media pitches; Build relations with media.
- Manage Student Media Fellows program including recruiting students, planning sessions, and working with students on articles.
- Assist with annual Essay Contest program.
- Work with NeW’s President to research topics for articles.
- Train students on media and writing op-eds and pitch their work out. Work with students to edit pieces for publication.
- Execute marketing and communications strategies and create content to grow NeW’s brand. Review and implement changes based on analytics.
- Write compelling content for digital and physical marketing materials including social media, annual reports, blogs, and flyers.
- Assist with designing and producing marketing videos and social media clips including Instagram Reels, posting content to YouTube, and the weekly NeW Review.
- Create marketing and promotional materials for NeW programs as needed.
- Travel to NeW events as needed to meet with media, capture photo and video content, and promote NeW’s work.
- Assist in managing communications interns.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of professional experience
- Willingness to travel ~10% – this number will vary, depending on the home location of the candidate and their specific skill set
- A bachelor’s degree (ideally in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field)
- Experience in media, marketing or communications
- Detail-oriented
- Strong experience in managing projects and a track record of follow-through, growth, and success
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external audiences
- A strong work ethic and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Ability to multitask and set priorities
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines
- Demonstrated personal responsibility, accountability, honesty, and superb organizational skills
- Strong Microsoft office skills; Experience with Mailchimp and WordPress preferred
- A positive attitude and spirit of collaboration
- Demonstrated understanding of and strong commitment to the mission of NeW

National Events Coordinator – Virtual
About the Role
Want to advance conservative ideas and impact the next generation of young women? Want to be part of a positive women’s empowerment organization? Interested in an entrepreneurial environment with a team that wants to see you grow professionally? Join the Network of enlightened Women (NeW), the nation’s premier organization for conservative university women, as National Events Coordinator. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with top conservative women around the country, build a movement for conservative college women, and implement your own ideas on campus to make a difference.
The National Events Coordinator will work to expand the impact of NeW through planning and executing national events. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with college chapters and young professional chapters, NeW educates young women on conservative principles, cultivates a community of conservative women, and emboldens young women to speak out on campus and in their communities. In addition, NeW hosts annual programs to engage these women, including an annual leadership retreat. The National Events Coordinator will work to advance the mission of NeW by recruiting new student and young professional members while planning virtual and in-person programming to further the impact of NeW across the nation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the NeW National team to develop a suite of NeW National programs that further our organization’s mission.
- Work with the Vice President of Programs to execute plans for national events and programs.
- Handle all administrative details, logistics, and data tracking for national programs.
- Represent NeW at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote our programs, membership, and chapters.
- Build relationships with students, partners, and coalitions.
- Collect and distribute NeW materials.
- Identify and recruit women to start more NeW chapters and join existing chapters.
- Execute administrative details and assist in other areas of this growing nonprofit.
- Work with the NeW Programs Team to set meaningful program goals and develop strategic plans.
Preferred Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree
- 1 – 3 years of professional experience, ideally in events, programs, outreach, or administration
- A leader or actively involved in an organization on campus
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel 20% of the time and to work when students are available, such as nights and weekends
- Ability to effectively manage multiple ongoing projects, tasks, and deadlines
- Experience in managing projects and a track record of follow-through, growth, and success
- Possess excellent communication skills with external audiences as well as internal audiences
- Be a highly motivated self-starter and independent worker willing to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, personal responsibility, and accountability
- A collaborative approach and entrepreneurial spirit
- Commitment to the mission and principles of the Network of enlightened Women

Internships
Tired of hearing about the war on women? Ready for a vibrant alternative to campus feminism? Want to advance pro-liberty ideas on campus? The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) is looking for talented and motivated students for our internships. Interning with NeW provides the opportunity to work directly with the leadership of a growing nonprofit organization and use your skills to fight for ideas you believe in. As a NeW intern, you will become connected with a network of influential women leaders in politics and policy. Internships are available in the fall, spring and summer, and can be done remotely from any university. Part-time and full-time positions, determined on a case by case basis. Stipends are available for some intern positions and internships can be used for course credit. You will need to inquire into the requirements of your specific university for course credit.
