Meet Natalie Price, our Spring Communications Intern! Natalie is a Junior at American University.
Q: How did you hear about NeW?
I learned about NeW through my University. My chapter president contacted me during my freshman year, and then I explored our Instagram page and fell in love with the messaging and opportunities for professional development and personal connections.
Q: Why is NeW important?
NeW is important because it provides young women a platform to think and speak freely as stipulated by our founding principles. However, speaking freely on college campuses is often challenging, plagued with the fear of being ostracized by our peers. NeW is an outlet, a community, and a support system to develop young conservative woman into leaders, thinkers, and doers.
Q: What is the most important conservative issue in your opinion?
In my opinion, the most important conservative issue is government overreach and waste. The size of the federal government has expanded beyond what our founders intended, causing massive debt and the overwhelming waste of hardworking Americans’ money. Many political issues stem from the fact that our government has created countless bureaucracies and agencies that overstep the boundaries of our constitutional rights.
Q: If you could offer advice to college students, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid of struggling to make friends in college because of what you believe. Stand proudly for your convictions because it rarely means standing alone. Oftentimes, it will encourage others who are equally nervous to speak their mind to join you. True friends will stand by you in life no matter your political beliefs.
Q: Why were you interested in interning for NeW?
Interning for NeW is an incredible opportunity to further engage in a community of similar-minded women while also providing me an outlet to expand my communication and writing skills through various opportunities and dive deeper into conservative and women’s issues.
Q: What do you hope to gain from your internship?
Through this internship, I aspire to become a stronger writer and communicator. I hope to improve my video editing and digital production skills while strengthening ties and creating lasting relationships with women in the conservative movement.
