I was blessed to grow up in a conservative household. My parents instilled in me from a young age a love of my country and respect for the God-given rights laid out in the Constitution. As I grew older, the beliefs I were taught were challenged practically everywhere I looked, from school to the shows on TV. Despite these challenges to my beliefs, I still came to the conclusion that conservatism is the best path forward for our country. I am a conservative because I believe in limited government, free-market principles, and preserving the liberties protected in the Constitution. In contrast to the perception that permeates the millennial generation, the conservative movement has been a supportive place for me as a woman. I have been able to flourish in my professional and personal life with the investment that those in the movement have made in my life since I was in high school.
