Senior Spotlight: Kaitlyn English, James Madison University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Kaitlyn English, member of NeW at James Madison University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I loved Cupcakes for Cops. It was so incredible to show our local police officers that they are appreciated.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending grad school at JMU for clinical and mental health counseling.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
There are more conservative women around you than you realize. Don’t be afraid to speak up in class to find your community.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
Before I was a member of NeW, I was the girl that stayed out of politics because I was afraid to upset anyone. Now I speak my mind in liberal classes and am able to be confident in my beliefs. I have found a community that allows me to be proud and works to educate young women to back up their arguments.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it gives me hope that the young women of America are becoming educated conservatives. In college especially, it is easy to feel outnumbered and unheard, but NeW creates a safe space to discuss these difficulties and grow confidence to be outspoken.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Kaitlyn. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
