Congratulations to our graduating seniors, and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.
Meet Jenna Landmon, President of NeW at Boston College.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
Our NeW National Birthday Celebration was so great! It was one of our first events of the year, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other and share about why this organization is so special.
I loved the fall Boston meet up. It was great to hear from other schools about their experience being a conservative on campus. To make it even better, we all wore pink in honor of NeW and Mean Girl’s Day!
Another one of my favorite events was Pumpkins & Policy. Our chapter came together to paint pumpkins and discuss recent news. Events like these make me appreciate the community I’ve found through NeW!
What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to work in fundraising.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Stay true to your values! Don’t feel pressure to change your viewpoints and actions to fit in with everyone.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has connected me with a group of women who share similar political beliefs, which has encouraged me to be more vocal in my viewpoints. When I first got involved freshmen year, my chapter’s leaders took me under their wing, making me feel involved with something great on campus. After becoming more involved, I found a greater interest in politics, which lead me to intern with Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign. Having the opportunity to work in fundraising at this level has prepared me for a career in fundraising.
Why is NeW important to you?
I loved being able to find a community of likeminded women during my college experience and expand an interest in politics!
