Meet Flora Ivanova, President of NeW at UNC Chapel Hill.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
My favorites were our Galentine’s Day candle painting event and end-of-year ice cream social.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to work as an MRI technologist while continuing to take classes.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Do not succumb to peer pressure just to fit in. Stay true to who you are and you will gravitate towards people whose values align with yours.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has helped me to gain the confidence to express my beliefs and to lead like a lady. These are leadership skills that I will carry with me as I move on to the next chapter of my life.
Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it provided me the space to be myself on a campus that alienates conservative women. I’m excited to see where the future exec team leaders take our chapter.
