NeW at Mercer University Learns About Human Trafficking Dangers at Speaker Event

NeW at Mercer University hosted a speaker event on November 15, 2021, during which members learned about the dangers of human trafficking from a subject matter expert.

During the event, chapter members in attendance heard from Sophia Fisher, executive director of the Stop the Demand Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness to stop the demand for human trafficking. The women learned so much about how to get involved in the movement against human trafficking. Fisher also had really great conversations with attendees about trafficking in the Macon community and how they can work to combat it.

“Sophia discussed the real issue of human trafficking with our chapter. It was amazing that she didn’t just share about what human trafficking is, but also how to get involved to combat it. Sophia shared a lot of opportunities to get involved in the movement, including about her nonprofit, Stop The Demand,” an attendee said after the event.
