NeW at Emmanuel College hosts Kelsey Harkness

On November 27th, NeW at Emmanuel College brought to campus guest speaker, Kelsey Harkness, Senior News Producer for the Heritage Foundation’s The Daily Signal. Harkness shed light on the differing types of feminism, emphasizing that the liberal variation of feminism, though most commonly acknowledged, is not the only one. She discussed the importance of conservative feminism and reminded us that as conservative women we must not exclude other women on the basis of their political ideologies.

Harkness shared her story and how she became the successful newswoman she is today, a feat she never pictured herself achieving as a timid college student. The evening culminated with a lively discussion of current events and political issues, where all in attendance were encouraged to voice their opinions. We covered the economy, immigration policies, abortion, political scandals, and more.

Special thank you to Kelsey Harkness, The Heritage Foundation, and Emmanuel College for enabling the success of this event.
