Meet Meghan Monahan, President of one of the newest chapters, NeW at Texas Tech University.
Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?
I am involved in multiple conservative organizations on campus, however, I was attracted to starting a NeW chapter at Texas Tech because it will be the first conservative women’s organization at Texas Tech to create an inclusive and open environment for women’s voices in conservatism on campus.
What has been your favorite memory or event with NeW?
My favorite memory so far has been attending other conservative organizations’ meetings and spreading the word about NeW to meet potential new members!
Why is NeW important?
NeW is important because it fosters a voice for women that are conservative, which has a tendency to be ignored, when it should be advocated for.
What advice would you give other conservative women on campus?
I would tell other conservative women on campus that they need to stop being afraid to talk about politics or their opinions simply because they feel uncomfortable! Uncomfortable can be good! And obviously, JOIN NeW!
