If you define the term “gentleman,” you’ll get a “chivalrous, courteous, or honorable man.” That does not begin to describe Michael Galioto. Michael is a student at College of the Ozarks, a private Christian college located in the heart of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. As a testament to his hard working personality and outstanding character – Michael has chosen to work at College of the Ozarks, which is a work college, and earn his degree by working hard and gaining experience in his field of study.
He is a senior double majoring in business management and public relations and spends his time working in the Public Relations Office at the College. This office serves to pay for his tuition, but in true Michael style, he goes above and beyond and often puts in hours equivalent to a full time job, when the required hours are only a mere 15. This continually shows his dedication to serve those around him and meet the needs of others without them ever even having to ask.
He is a leader by nature and shows others how to lead by example – often by taking on major tasks and assignments that most people just don’t want to do because it’s “grunt’ work. Michael has also shown his ability to take pride in his work and represent himself as a man of character and intelligence in national business competitions, often earning top places and high regard from those around him. However, you might not ever even know this about Michael. He is as humble as he is hardworking, and I will not be a bit surprise 10 years from now when he calls me to celebrate his new company or promotion, because he will have built strong connections and bridges, bringing with him those who helped him and that he helped along the way.
So, if you’re asking what a gentleman is, in our day and age, then look at Michael Galioto, spend a few hours talking with him and you’ll find that chivalry is not dead. In fact – it’s still very much alive, and prospering in young men just like Michael.
