Sam DeSouza is hands down the most gentlemanly man I know. For the past few years that I’ve known him, I have been amazed by his kindness, generosity, and selflessness. No matter the situation, he always puts the needs of others before his own and goes out of his way to make sure that everyone around him is taken care of. This is especially true when it comes to his friends and family. He treats all of the women in his life (specifically his mother and sister) with the utmost respect and is an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephew. Some of Sam’s most admirable qualities are his work ethic and his commitment to his community. An aspiring doctor, he works hard every day and takes every opportunity he can to help people while preparing for a career in the medical field. While attending the University of Colorado, he served as Vice President of a pre-health group called MAPS where he helped put on free health fairs for the community. He has also volunteered at Boulder Community Hospital in the medical surgery department and worked in a spinal rehabilitation clinic. Sam is a perfect gentleman and truly an incredible person. He is someone who will make a great role model for young men across the nation. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly believe that Sam deserves to be the 2016 Gentleman of the Year.
