GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER NAMED 2022 HONORARY GENTLEMAN
WASHINGTON, DC — Showing civility in politics and leadership and respect for those with whom you disagree is becoming a rarity. The Network of enlightened Women, known as NeW, is hosting the 12th Annual Gentlemen Showcase, celebrating gentlemen across the country who demonstrate service, kindness, and respect to encourage more of these values. As part of the Showcase, NeW is proud to name Governor Scott Walker as the 2022 Honorary Gentleman.
Even at a young age, Governor Walker served his community through his involvement in school, church, sports, Scouts, and participating in the American Legion’s Badger Boys State and Boys Nation programs. He has continued to dedicate his life to serving his community, his state, and our country. In 1993, he was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly and in 2002, he was elected to the Milwaukee County executive office. After 17 years of helping to improve his community, Walker was elected governor of Wisconsin in 2010. As he served in public office, he prioritized improving the welfare system, public safety, educational opportunities, and renewed government accountability. Following his time in politics, Governor Walker has focused his efforts on fighting for conservative beliefs and values and supporting conservative students across the country. He serves as president of Young America’s Foundation and serves on the boards of Students for Life Action, American Federation for Children, and the Center for State-led National Debt Solutions.
“We are honored to have Governor Scott Walker as our 2022 Honorary Gentleman. Throughout his life, he has chosen a path of service and led with courage even when under the fiercest of attacks,” said Karin Lips, President of NeW. “NeW is proud to host The Gentlemen Showcase again this year to give America the opportunity to celebrate young gentlemen. This positive program encourages equality and mutual respect between men and women and civility in discourse. By praising gentlemen, we hope to inspire more of them.”
“I’m so proud to be associated with the 2022 Gentlemen Showcase. The Network of enlightened Women understands that we need young men to grow up to be gentlemen, and the key to that is teaching them respect. A gentleman should always be respectful towards his wife and their children. He should respect his family and friends, coworkers and neighbors. The world would be a much better place if every man showed the respect worthy of a gentleman,” shared Governor Scott Walker, 2022 NeW Honorary Gentleman.
Since 2010, The Gentlemen Showcase has celebrated men across the country who demonstrate service in their communities and show kindness and respect to others. These admirable qualities deserve to be highlighted. Previous gentlemen have been nominated for giving up a seat on the bus, supporting conservative women speaking out on campus, and taking care of their community’s environment. The 2022 Gentleman Showcase opened on Monday, January 17 and will be accepting nominations until Sunday, January 30 at www.gentshowcase.com.
Past Honorary Gentlemen have included Ben Shapiro, editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire and host of “The Ben Shapiro Show”, and Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service.
The Showcase has been featured by ABC News, CBS DC, New York Post, Red Alert Politics, The Atlantic, The College Fix, The Washington Examiner, and Townhall.
