WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION CELEBRATES 15 YEARS OF EMPOWERING WOMEN

WASHINGTON, DC — The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) is celebrating its 15th anniversary as the nation’s premier network for conservative college and professional women this month. Since the first NeW meeting on September 29, 2004, NeW has grown to campuses across the country with more than 1,000 women involved each year in programs including the National Conference, Leadership Retreat, and CPAC Dessert Party.

NeW is a proud leader in entrepreneurial, empowering programming that introduces students to inspirational conservative female leaders. Through a published book titled She’s Conservative: Stories of Trials and Triumphs on America’s College Campuses; positive press from mainstream media including GlamourCosmopolitan, and CBS News; and national social media campaigns #ShesConservative and #ConservativeWomenVote, the work NeW is doing has reached millions of people.

Read about the impact of NeW from the women involved:

Being a part of NeW has been a truly empowering experience. When I first started college, I was a shy freshman who would hesitate to talk about politics with anyone, but joining NeW surrounded me with a supportive community of strong and intelligent women who have given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and to be an active conservative voice on campus. The support, the opportunities, and the courage that I have gained from NeW have helped me get the most out of my college experience, and for that, I will always be grateful.” – Kelly VonEnde, NeW at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte

NeW has given me amazing opportunities to connect with other conservative women on my college campus and from across the country. In this community I have been able to strengthen the way I talk about conservatism with others and strengthen the skills that I know will carry me through the rest of my time in college and in my career.” – Julia Canzano, NeW at Boston College

To celebrate 15 years, NeW is hosting an Anniversary Celebration this evening, featuring keynote speaker Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

“It has been a true privilege to work with so many inspiring women who are not afraid to stand strong for their conservative beliefs. I started NeW because I wanted to find a community of women that I could discuss important issues with and encourage the intellectual diversity I noticed was lacking on campus. It has been such an honor to see NeW grow over the past 15 years, and I look forward to seeing another 15 years (and more) of NeW empowering conservative women,” said Karin Lips, President and Founder of NeW.
