I am a proud conservative woman because I have firm beliefs in my views and I believe they are morally correct. Being Catholic has given me a strong and moral background in what I believe is right and wrong. So, naturally, being pro-life is a huge part of my identity in being conservative. I believe every person has a right to life no matter how small. I also believe that it is our job to fight for these humans because they don’t have a voice.
Another reason why I am a proud conservative is because I strongly believe in Freedom of Speech. Everyone has a right to say what they want as long as it does not endanger others. I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone that they aren’t allowed to say something because it offends another person. Eventually everyone would just be so offended that you wouldn’t be able to say anything.
The final reason I am a conservative is because I believe a small government is a better government. We don’t need government to control every aspect of our lives and so having a smaller government is better because it gives the people more power.
One of my role models is Senator Mia Love. I love the way she has taken her experience and turned it into an amazing story and a way to empower people about being pro-life. Part of being conservative is to empower other women and she is doing an amazing job of that.
My other conservative role models are just my fellow women in college who are proud to be conservative. College campuses are such liberal places and telling people you’re conservative takes a lot of tenacity. To share that with people who believe the opposite of you and to be proud in doing so is empowering.
Being conservative is the way I was raised, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I truly believe that what I stand for is right and I want to be able to share it with other women and the world.
