Senior Spotlight: Mia Steupert, NeW at Emmanuel College

This spring, we continue to highlight some of our exceptional seniors and celebrate their upcoming graduation. Meet Mia Steupert, senior at Emmanuel College.

Mia is president of NeW at Emmanuel College, received the NeW Rising Star Award in 2018, and is a contributor to our new book She’s Conservative: Stories of Trials and Triumphs on America’s College Campuses.

What are your plans after graduation?
I am planning on attending Grad School to get a Master’s in Public Policy – hopefully at Regent University in Virginia Beach.

What is one thing you have gained from NeW?
One thing, amongst many things, I have gained from NeW is the confidence to share my beliefs on my college campus without fear of retribution from liberal students or faculty because I have an army of support from NeW National and other chapters.

What is one piece of advice you would give to conservative women starting college?
My advice would be don’t wait to start a NeW Chapter until your junior and senior year – jump right into creating a chapter on campus because it will make your life on campus so much more enjoyable.

The Network of enlightened Women provides amazing opportunities for young Conservative females. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus here and help others learn about what NeW stands for!
