Senior Spotlight: Meghan Schmelz, University of Arizona

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Meghan Schmelz, Vice President of NeW at University of Arizona.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I loved when we went to the Escape Room. This was such a fun event for all of us to bond during and get to know each others’ strengths and weaknesses.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean! Starting this September I will be a full time student once agin, this time working on my veterinary medicine degree.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Find other girls and people to support you! Stay true to your values. If you find a group of people who share similar beliefs to you, it is much easier to stay true to yourself without falling into the mass of peoples’ opinions. It is okay to be different, it’s what makes you shine.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has helped me network and has opened many doors for me. I know that wherever I end up after graduate school, I can easily reach out to another NeW member and establish a connection with meaning.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me as it has helped me to feel not alone in my beliefs. I feel understood, heard, and know that there is a strong group of women who will have my back wherever I go.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Meghan. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
