Senior Spotlight: Mary Cianciolo, NeW at Xavier University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Mary Cianciolo, member of NeW at Xavier University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
Our “Rent Out A Movie Theater” night was such a fun event because the movie blew everyone away and prompted great discussion afterward. We were also able to introduce our new advisor to the members. I additionally enjoyed our “Bachelorette Tuesday” event, which was a great meeting to really break the ice. We had a lot of new members attend and get reacquainted with veteran members.

What are your plans after graduation?
I’m very hopeful that I’ll be chosen for an LSC Fellowship position coming this December.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Speak up in class! It can be scary, but classrooms need leaders who will fearlessly introduce different perspectives to open a wider range of discussions. More people may agree with you than you’re expecting.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
I’ve made so many amazing friends from NeW. It’s given me a special kind of confidence that makes me eager to explain my position as a conservative woman and why conservative women are the next leaders of free society.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it embodies America’s most fundamental value: Everyone has a voice and deserves a chance to use it. NeW made me feel heard and gave me the tools to articulate myself outside of the club and a life-long support system.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Mary. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
