Senior Spotlight: Katie Guymon

Congratulations to our graduating seniors, and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Katie Guymon, Vice President of NeW at Xavier University.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?

I had so much fun getting to meet with other NeW leaders from across the country and discuss how to make our chapters as successful as possible at Leadership Retreat!

What are your plans after graduation?

I will be working as an ICU nurse.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?

Don’t be afraid to stick to your values and opinions, no matter how daunting it may seem. There are more people who think like you on your campus than you might think, so staying true to your beliefs and having the courage to voice your opinions may give others around you that same courage.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?

NeW has taught me that in today’s world, being a conservative woman is empowering. My thoughts and opinions are valid and backed by so many other intelligent women. Being a conservative can be hard in today’s society, but NeW has showed me that I will always have a community that supports me along the way.

Why is NeW important to you?

NeW is important to me because it empowers women to be confident in their beliefs and to not back down. There aren’t many other places conservative women, especially in college, can turn to for support and guidance, and NeW does a great job of doing just that.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Katie. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
