Senior Spotlight: Emily Smith, University of Mississippi

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Emily Smith, member of NeW at University of Mississippi.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I loved out writing letters to the nursing home event.

What are your plans after graduation?
I will be a math teacher at South Panola High School.

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
College and specifically liberal professors are going to be difficult but let this experience mold and strength you not suppress you. This is truly the best time to decide what you believe and establish how you intend to defend it.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
Being involved in politics can be daunting especially when so few women seem to be. NeW reminds you that you are not alone. I’ve greatly appreciated that these past 4 years.

Why is NeW important to you?
The support and love I have felt helps me get through the rough days of being a conservative college student.
