Senior Spotlight: Emilie Taylor

Congratulations to our graduating seniors, and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Emilie Taylor, Co-President of NeW at the University of South Carolina.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?

We hosted Riley Gaines this past February which was a HUGE hit, and we had pizza and pumpkin painting on the Horseshoe which was great to get to know some of the girls! We also hosted Alexis Flowers and she was an absolute delight to have on campus and it was great hearing from her.

What are your plans after graduation?

I will be attending medical school!

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?

While it can be intimidating, and many people will try to say negative things to you, stay true to yourself and your beliefs. Don’t let someone belittle you for what you believe in. Stand strong, and know that there are plenty of other people out there just like us who will support you!

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?

NeW has helped strengthen my leadership and communication skills and has given me more insight into being a conservative female in the current college world. It has shown me that regardless of what others think and say to you, as long as you stay true to your beliefs and continue to be a leader and not a follower, everything will fall into place.

Why is NeW important to you?

NeW is a safe space for me to discuss politics and other leadership/school related topics that I know I won’t be frowned upon for. I met some really sweet friends in this group and I will even be in a wedding for one! Overall, having the freedom of expression without hate has been very important to me!

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Emilie. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
